There is a special joy of being the "big brother" for your friend and taking care of content for them when they need help. Otherwise, I'd love for it to be scaled to the lowest level. If all party members all have "level scale when in a party" checked, the have it be the way it is now. In addition, I'd even prefer to have two settings available. It also gives a better sense of direction as we figure out how to explore the land. It gives players goals and challenges that makes us feel powerful when we're able to overcome them later on. Thing is, being gated is *good* thing in my view. 3) The immense work it takes to meticulously scale every enemy/zone in the game based on a general sense of progression My understanding is that the level scaling exists to solve three problems: 1) Allows parties to complete the same quest regardless of level separation and 2) Allows players to go wherever and tackle content without being gated. ![]() When solo, it scales based on your progression in the main quest, based on region. In a party, it scales based on level or not at all, at the choice of the users. Scaling in my view should be done in two ways:
